Great Ash Barn is located 3.5 miles by road from the village of Copplestone which has a lovely small farm shop, and a Central Stores.

Morchard Bishop is a lovely rural village 4.5 miles by road, where you will find a delightful village shop and welcoming pub, The London Inn.

Sandford is located 4 miles away by road, and has a community run shop and has two popular village pubs.

There are footpaths all around Great Ash Barn which will take you to all the villages above.

The nearest town is Crediton, 5 miles away. The birth place of St Boniface. You will find independent shops along its wide high street, a Tesco and a Morrisons. 

Okehampton is 17 miles away and home to a famous castle ruin, the town is one of the walking centres of Devon with easy access to Dartmoor.

Exeter is 13 miles away, it is an ancient city on the river Exe dating back to the Roman era.

We are equal distance from the North and South Coasts. North Devon having stunning sandy beaches which stretch for miles, great for surfing. South Devon has a wealth of lovely coastal towns and beaches to visit.

There are many Farm shops around Crediton, Ruby Red at Thorverton, Thornes at Cheriton Fitzpane, Copplestone Farm Shop, Old Nogs Farm shop and cafe at Eggesford.

There are many National Trust properties in the area. Castle Drogo, Knighthayes, Killerton are all within 40 minutes drive. RHS Garden Rosemoor is a beautiful garden only 35 mins away.

You are welcome to walk around our farm, we just ask that you keep dogs on leads in fields with livestock, and close the gates. Sometimes we have calves, piglets and lambs that you can help us to feed. We always have chickens and ducks you can feed and collect your own freshly laid eggs.
